Quadropus

Sooooo, and yes I know it's been awhile but I promise I will post at least 3 times a week in months to come. As usual I have been consumed in my work and loving every minute of it. So as I type frantically to keep the wolves at bay, the Congo Sanchez two four breakbeat slang slowly put things in prospective. All bullshitting aside down to the brass tax Quadropus is an idea I came up with for a vinyl toy art show my friend Frank got me in to. I have never painted a toy so big before and with prosthetics. I used sculpy clay and shock proof glue to attach the extension pieces and eyeballs and eyelids. Once all the technical aspects where taken care of it was time to paint. I treated each piece like a it was an auto part I hung it and sprayed it from all angle. Once base coats of orange and yellow where done. I added some green spots on the sides. For my first time working in the toy medium and putting something into a show I was somewhat content with mr Quardropus even more content to a quite happy when I found out mr Pus sold at the show. I will admit I was sad to see him go but glad to see some dough, ha sorry don't mean to be corny.

Myself and Mr.&Mrs."the Kid"Adams

Soooooo Monday night I got the opportunity to tattoo Jason Adams and his wife Korrine. Anyone that knows me knows I have been skateboarding basically my whole life, growing up in the Midwest it wasn't an easy lifestyle, sport, subculture to pursue. Either way you can't pick what you love it picks you and skateboarding got me at a young age. It was a gateway drug for me introducing me into awesome bands incredable artists it opened doors new and exciting! And I loved it all. In the mid nineties I saw Jason Adams skate for the first time and it changed my life or should I say it was a pivotal point in my life where everything made sense, I know how ridiculous that sounds. After that no matter what I was all about J Adams he was my Jordan, Bird, Pippen, he defines perfectly what skateboarding is and pushes its boundaries into what it's becoming. His art, style, and writings are unparalleled. This brings me to another love skateboarding has led me to, tattooing, through my artwork I was able to meet someone who has inspired it for many years. Today was awesome, I was able to give back a little who has given me so much. The tattoo I did on Jason was from a Minor Threat cover "the black sheep" on his lower forearm Korrine got the script "live free" with a simple two line bird on her wrist. Both tattoos where fun to do and the company made for an enjoyable evening. Can't wait to see J and KoKo again soon next time hopefully we can do some bigger pieces! Thanks again guys and thanks for taking the time to read my babble.
Good health
Good fortune

Idle seconds we murder while pondering possibility

Lines connecting lines intersecting lines creating images the waking eye recognizes. Translating the vision in our mind through the motion of our hands creating what most folk consider art. This study, this passion, this dedication wakes us in morning, yet spends the last match on burning midnight oils. We are driving to cast murals on walls , skin, canvas, multimedias that span from towering skyscrapers, to small roman numerals engraved on rice. This incredible vast world of art is infinite in possibility and fruitful of inspiration. The image chooses you, and that's what makes this world so great. There is no standard, just everyone's translation of the language. Which do you speak?

Sam wanted his daughters name on his forearm. I came up with this and we ran with it. Had a blast doing this one, it's been awhile since I got to do script, so I enjoyed it to the fullest.

Traditional blue rose on Riley.

Fun fun fun, Riley wanted a little reminder of her friend and wanted a traditional rose. I sketched this one up and she dug it, we decided to paint it blue. Turned out to be a fun little afternoon, thanks Riley.

(walk-in of the day) A skull and pipe wrenches for Mike

This one was a cool little forearm banger. Mike owns his own plumbing company and for his 40th birthday wanted to get his first tattoo expressing his love for plumbing, and evil skulls. It was his first tattoo so I wanted to do it up. He is into Paul Booth stuff but not as evil, so I came up with this for him. It turned out great and he loved it! Job done!
